Nominate a leader or apply as a group today!

Do you know a student or advisor who has shown incredible passion and dedication for the March of Dimes? Did your student group members excel in supporting our mission? March of Dimes Team Youth is giving you the opportunity to recognize these amazing students (both individual and groups) and advisors through the 2013 Team Youth Recognition Program!
Each year, March of Dimes Team Youth honors our youth volunteers and advisors who have gone above and beyond their duties to show devotion and support of the March of Dimes mission in their local communities. Award recipients of the Team Youth Recognition Program are volunteers from across the nation who have made an impact in spreading awareness of the March of Dimes mission based on activities conducted from July 2012 – May 2013.
Student groups including National Service Partners, March of Dimes High School Councils, March of Dimes Collegiate Councils, and Youth Councils along with individuals are eligible to apply for the awards.
This year alone, we have heard about so many successful Prematurity Awareness Month program and March for Babies events. We are looking for dedicated volunteers and advisors who have and continue to show passion and dedication for the March of Dimes.
The National Youth Council would like to thank all volunteers and staff involved with Team Youth for their commitment to the March of Dimes mission. We look forward to receiving your applications.
Applications must be submitted on or before July 15, 2013. You can access the online application or by visiting www.marchofdimes.com/youth. The winning individuals and groups will be recognized in fall 2013. Please contact

Lunch Wednesday at the March of Dimes National Office was anything but ordinary. Sheryl Underwood, International Grand Basileus of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., was on site to share how she & the Zetas are going to increase their efforts to help every baby be born healthy!

President Sheryl Underwood greets March of Dimes staff Sandra Allen & LaVonia Anderson

The March of Dimes has worked with Zeta Phi Beta for over thirty years, and has had a great partnership with the sorority’s involvement in the Stork’s Nest program & in March for Babies. I was particularly excited, however, to hear President Underwood’s enthusiasm for working with youth populations. Zeta Phi Beta has Archonettes, Amicettes, and Pearlettes youth groups, and President Underwood has fantastic ideas & energy to reach these young women with the message of living a healthy lifestyle.

I can’t wait to engage new volunteers in education, fundraising, & youth leadership! Are you working with students to encourage healthy lifestyles? Or do you have an adult advisor whose enthusiasm for young people volunteering is contagious? We’d love to hear about it! A big thank you to President Sheryl Underwood and to all youth advisors who provide vision & encouragement in promoting youth volunteerism.
