I would like to say that I am so sorry for your loss. I am a new member to the March of Dimes. I too had a child that was born 1 month early. I also have a daughter that is 18. I was told that when I was 7 months pregnant with her, that she only weighed 1 pound. I was told to terminate the pregnancy. She would have health problems. I told them NO. I would take what ever GOD handed me. 18 years later, I am a grandmother. If I would have listened to the DR’s, my daughter would not be here.

I am walking in memory of my nephew that passed away at birth. His name is Noah. I will also walk in memory of your beautiful daughter Maddie. I will remember her smile as I have seen many pictures of her. She was a bright smile and memory that will live in the hearts of everyone that she touched.

Wow. The 50 teams that have sprung up this week to honor her by walking is amazing. Think I’ll click over and join one too.

My daughter is almost 2, was born two months early after PPROM. It is so frightening to see a child survive and then lose the fight. They are so precious. But I will not keep this sick feeling I have, and instead be inspired by this famiy’s hope and courage and love and by the outpouring for this cause. I will give and do what I can and love my little girl the best I can.

Sorry to hear about your loss of Maddie.
My daughter lost her son 2 1/2 years ago. He was born 2 months too soon. We formed a team then in his honor and have walked since then. This will be our 3rd walk. This is wonderful way to remember him.

I am so sad about this loss.

My daughter was born with a heart defect and had open heart surgery at 3 mos.

I cannot even imagine the pain of losing their beautiful baby girl.

I came across your story as I was managing my walk information. This is my 13th year being a part of the MoD. I joined WalkAmerica as a senior in high school for a way to help out. Since, I have continued to support the organization. I know there are so many causes to choose from and most people are faced with many different afflictions. I chose the March of Dimes because before you can even step into the risk of getting whatever it is the other million causes support, you need the chance at life. I will walk for Maddie this year. I cried for you today. I will keep those who have been touched by Maddie’s short life in my prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. My husband and I lost our daughter, Kayleigh on 10-12-08. She was born at 23 weeks and fought to stay with us. Please know that you are not alone. Our girls are in heaven. When we walk on April 26th -they will be watching over us.

My prayers and thoughts are with the parents of darling precious Maddie. My family and myself will be walking on the 25th in honor of my grandson Stephen. He was born early himself at 2 pounds. God has blessed us still with his presence. And I thank him daily for that gift. I will remember Maddie on that day also! and to all the families that have gone through the premature births I honor and bless you!!! Always remember that God will never give you anything you can not handle. He just had other plans for that darling girl up above.

My twin boys were born at 33weeks and spent alot of time in the nicu,I lost my sweet Jonah at 11 weeks old to a heart defect that we were trying to let him grow stronger to have repaired.Unfortunately God needed my angel just like he needs yours.I wont tell you that it gets easier because it doesn’t but helping other people and trying to prevent others from going through the same tragedy. My prayers go out to you and your family that you will find a peace to deal with the very difficult road ahead.GOD BLESS
