If each Kelly Clarkson fan gave $5…

Posted by Volunteers

Kelly Clarkson

So you might have caught her on SNL last week. Or Good Morning America. Or Oprah today. Get the picture? Kelly is on fire right now with a #1 album, All I Ever Wanted! And as you regular readers know, she is also a superstar for healthier babies.

Kelly’s fans, though, are the coolest. I just read an outstanding comment on our blog about Kelly and the March of Dimes – what if each fan donated just $5? What a huge difference that would make in the lives of babies and families!

So big shout-outs to all the fans; you can get on board too by donating that $5 to Team Kelly or forming your own team for March for Babies. The Kelly Clarkson Express Board raises money every year in honor of her birthday, and Kellyville does online auctions with proceeds going to the March of Dimes. Spread the word on the $5 fan campaign… Twitter, Facebook, MySpace… let all the KC lovers unite to help healthier babies, then come here and tell us about it! Rock on.

I think it is awesome to see a really start put their fame to good use. People look up to her and they are going to be more willing to donate to the March of Dimes because someone they see as a role modal is donating and standing behind the name. I also find it is nice that it is not just something Kelly Clarkson did one year, she does it every year and that really shows see believes the March of Dime is a good cause.

I believe this is an absolute great idea “What If” all of Kelly Clarkson fans made a $5.00 donation, the difference every fan would be making a contribution to making a difference. I don’t believe people take into consideration when contacted to donate what a difference a $1.00 or $5.00 will make. I believe people feel they have to make a monetary donation of $20.00 or greater. If they would consider “What If” the difference in the money raised would be extremely higher than previous years. Often I have consider in my donate letters for monetary donations to include a line “I am sending out 35 donation letters if everyone considers to donate $5.00 the difference their donation will make and I would be able to raise for a great cause.

I will this week posted a bog to my myspace page with a banner to ask for a $1.00 to $5.00 donation.

This is a great idea from Kelly Clarkson and her crew. Not only is she helping raise money for the March of Dimes, but also raising awareness. Kelly Clarkson not only has the loyal fans of American Idol supporting her, fans she has accrued over the past 5 years, and people who just are familiar with her music. If one young fan is to hear about this fundraiser by Kelly Clarkson then pass it on to two other fans and so on and so forth, the message, in theory, should spread like wildfire. Not only will children be telling their friends, but could also influence donations from their siblings and parents. Clarkson’s fans are not limited to children, teens and young adults are fans too. This is where key donations could come from.
The problem I do see though is that Clarkson is not publicizing this cause. I browsed through her MySpace and two official sites and saw nothing in regards to the March of Dimes. This blog is the first I have heard of her support. If she really wants to support the cause she needs to get the word out there. Perhaps she will be discussing this more in future talk show appearances.
I will be raising awareness in my community of the March of Dimes both in grade schools and patrons of the community. I have mailed out or given letters to friends and family in the community requesting donations or participation in the actual walk. The response has been tremendous. I have given my personal number out to numerous people and talked to them about their participation. I have also posted a video and a banner on my MySpace page requesting the same.

I think this is a great idea. More people will get involved when they see public figures doing the same thing. Through the work that Kelly Clarkson is doing, she is making the cause for babies a public thing. I think that Kelly Clarkson is affecting people in a positive way. She is using her status as a platform to inform others on issues that needs to be heard about. With Kelly Clarkson helping out with this organization, it is one more step for babies to have a better chance at life.

I do agree with the part about what people think when someone wants them to donate money. They feel that they have to donate a lot. In this case you really dont, every little bit counts when a person is trying to help babies grow and not experience sickneess or premature birth. You donate what you can and it will help out a lot.

I believe that this blog on what if each Kelly Clarkson fan gave $5 puts donations more into perspective for all people. I always thought that if I gave $5, it would not be a big difference, but the reality is that the $5 would not make a difference in my wallet, it could make a huge difference for the March of Dimes. This $5 could help to save many children’s lives, and if each person were to think this way, it can make a huge difference to the way people start to donate. Even if just five people donated $5, rather than nothing, this is a difference to the March of Dimes of $25 that would normally not be there. I believe this campaign could help to open many people’s eyes on how even just a little can help, because it really does add up in the end. This is just another form of saying, to keep loose change until it is piled up, it could really be a large sum at the end that could buy something a person has been saving for. The March of Dimes is trying to keep all their loose change until it adds up to a large lump sum to add up to saving children’s lives each day.

It’s wonderful to see someone in the spotlight actually doing something useful with the money they are making. This is actually new news to me and I’m actually quite surprised. If every major celebrity would do something like this, then the March of Dimes would have more than enough money to help fund the various research that they need in order to accomplish their goal. Much kudos to Kelly!

I think it is a great idea for all of Kelly Clarkson’s fans to donate $5.She sells out her concerts so that would be a huge amout of money. I think it’s wonderful that a star would want to help with such a great cause. She is putting her fame to good use. With her help The March of Dimes should beable to raise money and help those famlies who are in need.

Super stars and their fan support is so enormous. The number of fans in the world could donate enough to solve the national deficit crisis. With this in mind just think about the nuber of donations that Kelly Clarkson could raise for the March of Dimes. This attitude should be represented by a larger percentage of stars in the world. Thanks Kelly Clarkson and her “Super-fans”

This is a great idea. When you have that many fans that are used to spending uber amounts of money on a concert for their favorite artist think of what could happen if that money went to a cause. It is so important for young artists to show their fans that there are great charities out there that need support. Artists like Kelly Clarkson are role models for all their younger fans, and putting a message out their for them to see will really help spread the word of the March of Dimes. My personal mission for the March of Dimes is to just spread the word to the youth. To show them how important giving back is and what they will get in return for it. Kelly Clarkson’s fans will be doing such a benefit to not only the March of Dimes, but themselves as well.

Aside from the fund raising I will be doing with my college, I will also be sure to post things on my Facebook and my Twitter.

another way to raise money is at concerts in area’s where you get refunds on recycling. alot of concert venues don’t have recycle bins, bottles and cans just lay around from water, soda, etc… if you set up a couple of bins to collect them, those nickles can add up to alot! it can be donated, and your helping the environment at the same time!

That is a fantastic idea. Imagine all the fans around the world that love Kelly Clarkson. Not only does this help the March of Dimes, but it also promotes her favorable in the public eye. Best of both worlds. Just the fact that she would take time to associate with a cause (no matter how noble) speaks volumes of her, and the work the March of Dimes has done and will continue to do. Great Job Kelly!

I thought it about this, and I said wow. This could be huge. Imagine all the fans connecting with family and friends that they know to donate the same amount. It would be like a pay it forward type of deal. Each person finding three people to donate $5, the process would be endless.
There is something about a celebrity making a stand for a good cause. It brings much value to the public’s eye. In addition, it adds authenticity sometime too. I think this was a great idea and hopefully it goes through.

I really think it would be a great idea if each of Kelly Clarkson’s fans gave $5. I know many young children that enjoy her music, and I know that some of them have money. These are also young girls, who are crazy about babies, and they would do anything they can to help a baby out. Stars speaking out for babies shows a great support in the celebrity field, and if each fan gave then I am sure there could be a new goal set.

This is a good thing to consider. $5.00 from every single fan would be a ton of money. I think every celebrity should do something like this even if they just ask for $1.00 because as many fans as there are out there, they could raise a ton of money and not even realize it. People who have a lot of money like Kelly Clarkson should be willing to help out people who need it, whether you are a celebrity or not. A little bit of money here and there can go a long way.

I believe this is a great idea and a great opportunity for people all over to get a chance to help. Not only could this be done with just Kelly but it could be done with any artist. This could enormously help families all over and give a better chance to help out premature babies that were born.

I think that it is a good idea for a a super star like Kelly Clarkson to donate. It shows that even people that have a better life than most still have a heart to donate to help babies. People do not have to donate $20 or more, but if people got a group together and donated $5 each they are making a difference and saving babies. If every fan of Kelly Clarkson donated $5 do you know how much of a difference it would make?

I think this is a great idea! Kelly Clarkson has so many fans that have supported her throughout American Idol her career. For them to see that she supports a worthy cause, may be what it takes to get others involved. This just goes to show that with a small amount of help from the community, $5, a large amount of work can be done.

I think that this is a really good idea not only for the March of Dimes but for Kelly Clarkson too. Since Clarkson has so many fans from American Idol and fans that have stayed with her throughout her career that if they all gave five dollars it would make a huge difference for the March of Dimes because they would be able to hopefully find cures for premature birth. For example, if Clarkson had one million fans give five dollars that would mean that March of Dimes would get five million dollars just from the fans of Kelly Clarkson. I think this is also good for Clarkson because she is showing that she cares about the babies that are losing their life’s every year due to premature birth.
