You can sell cookies, bears and other sweet things!

Whether on a Family Team or Corporate Team, volunteers are boosting team dollars in creative ways beyond getting individual sponsor donations. And with budgets so tight this year, many people love the “two for one” of fundraising when there’s something in it for them yet proceeds go to the cause of babies — whether a purchase or a party!

Here’s what’s going on out there: bake sales, scrapbooking or Pampered Chef parties, golf tournaments, poker nights, chartible dinner (checks instead of hostess gifts), birthday parties, no presents birthday parties, pj days, and more! What are you doing? Also check out the Youth and Family Teams blog for more ideas.

I am interested in selling bears and/or other items as a fundraiser to help march of dimes and our school awareness of mission projects. We would be making a large purchase to resell at our school as a “two for one” fundraising event. Years ago I was involved in selling plush animals in a “two for one” we sold baby bulldogs. This was our mascot. Now I would be interested in red cardinals (the mascot of the school where I teach) or a spring animal.
Please send me more information.

Hi Carol,
We are so glad that you are interested in the plush as a fundraiser! Plush animals are available at http://www.plushland.com/mod – a minimum of 72 pieces is required and they range in cost approximately $3.00 each. The intent is that you re-sell them for at least $5.00 or more. There are also other items available at http://www.awarenessproductsonline.com/marchofdimes. Be sure to click on the fundraising section of this site as that is where you can purchase larger quantities at a lower price thereby enabling you to sell them at a slightly higher price for fundraising. If you have any questions please email kfarrey@marchofdimes.com. Good luck and thank you!

I had a lot of fun selling candy bars. What little resistance I encountered quickly went away when I told people about all the wonderful goals and accomplishments of the March of Dimes. Next year I am going to order some of bears. Good luck to all fellow fundraisers.

I decided to start a team of my friends at school, in honor of my sisters and I, who were all born prematurely. So far we have raised more than $1,000! Some ways we have fundraised are through emails, calling friends and family, and walking around to ask neighbors. Just today, we organized a school-wide fundraiser in which we sold jelly beans to support the March of Dimes. It was a hit, and everyone loved the Jelly Beans!

We have found selling specialized local coupon cards is really good. You have to get good deals and get them yourself. We don’t have much luck with those presold cards where you pay $5.00 and sell them for $20.00. I think you can end up losing money on it. However, if you do all the work yourself, you have an unlimited supply and it doesn’t cost you anything more than just printing it up.

Great blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple tweeks would really make my blog shine. Please let me know where you got your design. Thank you
