Creative Fundraising Ideas for March for Babies

Posted by Volunteers

Looking for creative, new fundraising ideas for your March for Babies team? Check out these options! They are designed for all of our student volunteers – but can work for any age group!

Set up a trivia night — Organize a fun night with food and board games, with a $5.00 admission.

Sponsor study snacks — Set up a table during exam time and sell bags of trail mix, nuts and candy to keep students alert.

Have a mini Super Bowl — You also can organize a massive game of tag, ultimate Frisbee® or a Quidditch match at your school or local park. Recruit players and raise money by selling food and admission tickets.

Make a birthday wish — Have friends and family make donations to the March of Dimes instead of giving you gifts.

Go Project Runway — Organize a fashion show that features clothing from local stores. It’s a great way for stores to showcase their clothes. Prom and formal wear are naturals. Hold your event in a central location and use the admission fee to raise money for the March of Dimes.

Cutout campaign — Pick up cutouts at your March of Dimes office and have an in-school competition to see which grade can raise more money selling them. Post sold cutouts in a central part of the school so classmates can feel good about the difference they are making in their community.

What’s your most creative fundraising idea this spring to help raise money for healthy babies?

We were thinking of having a euchre tournament for our friends/family, or a crockin party where everyone brings their favorite crock pot dish & the recipe. We’d make cards available for everyone to copy their favorite recipes to take home. Also maybe a family fun day, we could have different board games, outdoor games (basketball, put put golf, etc) and charge admission per family. Just a few ideas for a family friendly fundraiser. :)

My team in this small town in Montana is having a raffle for cash fundraiser. where you sell at least 500 tickets at 20$. and all the tickets go in a bucket to be drawn. Every day the month of May there is an amount of money you could win. so every day there is a winner. by the time you are done you could possible raise $6000 for march of dimes. :)

Every year I invite my friends to dinner on a Saturday night. For a suggested contribution, they will get an appetizer, main course, salad, desert, wine, coffee and tea. My husband and I provide all the ingredients and do all the cooking. All contributions go to the March of Dimes. I always have a second edition of the dinner on a Friday for friends who go out of town every weekend. This year the main course is chicken and artichoke lasagna; desert is a French orange tart.

Last year my team had a free car wash where people could make donations. It turned out really good, by making it free people weren’t limited to how much they should donate. This year I was thinking about possibly having a bowling night. The local bowling alley has you sell tickets and you get 50% of sales as a donation.

Looking for the vintage dime cards sheets for collecting coins. Any idea where to find them?
