We did it!

Posted by Linda

Just back in from March for Babies, Long Beach, NY. Feeling the burn, but we sure had a good time. The sun was out – and so were some 1,500 walkers (my conservative guess). Sure, there are much, much bigger walks, but for the board walk here, this was a nice crowd.

Lots of family teams, lot of strollers. And lots of little ones looking longingly at that gorgeous beach. Obviously, we went straight from the walk to the sand. And we weren’t the only ones.

My sister-in-law, who lives on the beach, served a delicious post-walk lunch and invited many of her neighbors. I’m actually munching on some tiramisu cake now… Her guests brought donations for our walk. And with that, we reached our goal. Thanks everyone!

Here are some of our pictures, the first one is of me and my son, Haden. I’ll put the whole set up on our Flickr group later. Hope you’ll do the same! Did you walk too this weekend?

The sun was out and the breeze was blowing…thank goodness!!! We love going out there and doing our part to help raise money and awareness for such a great cause!

Did my first March this morning in Cincinnati, 6 miles in the sun around downtown. It was great. I’ve never seen so many people come together for a cause. There was barely room to move around and I can’t wait to do it again next year. :)

We had a blast on Saturday in Balboa Park, CA! This was our first time joining the event in honor of our baby, Aureylia, now 18 months old. She was born at 33 weeks and is now doing well. We loved walking with what I heard was 8,000 of our closest friends and family! Thanks to everyone who helped us exceed our fundraising goal. We can’t wait to do it again next year and hope to see you all there!

My daughter and I walked through our town in Port Huron, MI. It was amazing to see the street filled with people walking on both sides! Can’t wait for next year!

We had a great day on Sunday, in Monroe, MI. The weather was in the 80’s with a wonderful breeze. Walked 3 miles with my son, while he relaxed in his wagon. This is our 3rd year walking and I enjoyed every minute of it. I’m glad to help every mother out there that has had a premature baby. See you next year.

We had a beautiful Spring day for the the local March for Babies in Duluth, GA! The Sindon-O’Neal family team walked for the 2nd year to honor a member of our family, Lexi Morrison. She is a survivor of premature birth at 29 weeks, and today she is a happy and healthy five-year old little girl. Thank you, March of Dimes for everything that you do for preemies and their families! See you next year!

Yes we did!!! Team LPCC TTA walked in the rain!! The day started off okay – thought the weather would cooperate but it didn’t. Midway through the walk, the rain came down on us. Nevertheless, we completed the 6 mile walk along Chicago’s downtown streets and lakefront. Despite the rain, it was a wonderful day for a wonderful cause.

We did the Chicago walk. Brrrrr and wet! It rained…no…it POURED almost the entire 6.2 miles. But Tean Carter showed up and walked so that one day all babies will be born healthy!!
My 5 year old “preemie” ran for a good portion of the walk. Why?? Because he can!!!

We did the Asheville walk. This was the first walk that I have done being pregnant. My mom, my sister, my sister’s friends, and I walked the whole way. Eveyone except for my team thought I wouldnt make it, and we proved them wrong. The end of the walk was even better. Knowing we did it. They painted my belly for the March for Babies, and everyone got a kick out of it!
