WellPoint Sends 600 Volunteers!

Thank You WellPoint!

Thank You WellPoint!

Each year, WellPoint (the nation’s largest health benefits company) encourages their associates to participate in Community Service Day. Lucky for us, March of Babies is an event chosen by WellPoint given our shared goals to improve the health of families.

On Saturday, 400 WellPoint volunteers helped with everything from set up to clean up at 25 sites across the country. And…in Los Angeles, Leslie A. Margolin (President, Anthem Blue Cross in California – a WellPoint affiliate) led a team of 200 more WellPoint volunteers who walked and fundraised.

And…Anthem Blue Cross in California is a $50,000 sponsor in LA. Three great ways for our friends in the health care industry to partner with us for babies! Thanks, WellPoint!

I was delighted to work with Mary Dawson and Poppy Reno and their wonderful volunteers. It is always great when we have volunteer groups that are so dedicated and capable.

I was further inspired when Mary offered to volunteer with us for other events and has already begun thinking about tweaking aspects of their ‘station’ for next year’s March for Babies. Thanks, Wellpoint for making a difference in Colorado Springs! Shona

The Wellpoint in Green Bay WI were fantastic! Even though we had severe thunderstorms going on all morning and throughout the day the volunteers were positive and helpful. Thanks again!

Janet Pogar, our Denver Wellpoint volunteer coordinator, did a fantastic job organizing the 30 volunteers from her office. They helped us cheer on the walkers along our walk route, despite the dreary and cold weather! Their enthusiasm, energy and support of the March of Dimes is greatly appreciated and we can’t wait to see them out there again next year!

I want to extend my thanks to Ruth Meye Hollenback and the team from Anthem Blue Cross for being a part of the St. Louis March For Babies! The assistance and hard work from these Wellpoint Volunteers was so important and just terrific! They manned the Food Tent and not only provided a great service to our thousands of Marchers…but made it fun and an enjoyable experience for everyone!! Thank you Mary and team!!!

The Wellpoint volunteers in Fond du Lac, WI were unbelievable! They were SO positive about volunteering their time, and helpful even though it was such bad weather! I couldn’t have asked for a better group to help “run the show”! Thanks girls!! :)
